Three generations · One kitchen

A family table that has held since 1978.

The Racou family opened the doors of a restored 1903 fishermen's house overlooking Cala Racó in the spring of 1978. Forty-six years later, the same whitewashed walls, low cedar beams, and salt-weathered shutters frame a single dining room — and now a candlelit terrace — where grandmother's recipes are reread each season by head chef Maria Racou.

Maria is the third generation to run the kitchen. She trained at El Celler de Can Roca between 2010 and 2014 before returning to the coast, where she tends the suquets, the mar i muntanya pairings, and the small daily decisions — which anchovies, which olive oil, which Catalan wine — that make a coastal kitchen feel like a home. There is no signature plating here. There is a signature welcome.

The cellar

320 labels. Two denominations. One sommelier's quiet obsession.

We do not list Bordeaux. We do not list Barolo. We list Empordà and Priorat — and nothing else.

The cellar holds 320 labels, ninety-two percent drawn from the Empordà and Priorat denominations of origin. Every bottle is tasted, chosen, and re-tasted by head sommelier Joan Casademont, WSET Diploma, 2014. Joan's pairing notes live on the back of each menu; ask and he will walk you through the rack himself, glass in hand, speaking softly about slate soils and Tramuntana winds.

Private celebrations

The 1903 wine cave is yours for the evening.

The Chef's Table

Inside the original 1903 wine cave — vaulted stone, a single eight-seat table, candlelight, and Maria cooking two metres from your plate. A seven-course Mar i Muntanya menu shaped to your party, paired by Joan from the cellar's reserve shelf. Ideal for anniversaries, proposals, and the sort of birthday one remembers for years.

The Terrace, privately

Up to twenty-eight guests on the candlelit terrace, full buyout on selected evenings April through October. The sea, the menu, the wine — and the small matter of a sunset over Cala Racó. We host destination weddings, intimate rehearsal dinners, and the kind of family gathering that crosses three generations around one long table.
